The first round of the winter league took place at Hudsons Farm fishery where mild showery conditions greeted the eleven anglers who participated. Victorious on the day was Mike Harrison who targeted silver fish, mainly Ide catching shallow with maggots amassing a weight of 31lb 12oz. The concluding round of the KDAC Summer League was held at Wharf Fisheries in appalling conditions where the 14 anglers who took part ended up just as wet as the fish. This match was also the annual pairs match so 7 pairs did battle on the day and in the end the weights were pretty close for the top three teams who got amongst some carp caught close in late in the day. The victorious duo were Mike Harrison & Graham Hall with a combined weight of 32lb, 2nd was James Atkinson & Leon Dugdale with 30lb and 3rd was Chris Brookshaw & Graeme Fearn with 25lb 15oz.
The final individual league ended up in a very close finish with four anglers amassing over 100 points which shows great consistency over the six rounds of the summer league and a high standard of angler. Overall winner and Summer League Champion is Mike Harrison with 122 points . 2nd & 3rd both had 115 points (unbelievable) and had to be decided on a weight count back where Peter Burgess just got the nod over Graham Hall.
I'd like to thank all who took part in the matches and hope to see them all during the tougher Winter League which starts at Hudson Farm Fisheries on the 8th of October, all welcome.
kind regards
Mike Harrison
